For the first time in a long time, I went shopping. Since we travel so light, we've had very limited closets for the last two years. By the end of our travels I fit everything into my backpack.
Now that we're no longer traveling as much, we can start to have stuff again. By "shopping" I mean I wandered into three stores and ended up with one new shirt. I'd consider that a success.
Since traveling, I think I've gotten a lot better at judging what I should actually buy. I used to buy things that would only sit in my closet afterwards. Now I make sure that what I buy is something I would wear often. Less is more. No more fast fashion. Simple pieces that I can pair with anything else.
Not only are we expanding our wardrobes but also starting to think about furnishing an apartment. In October, when we come back from Seattle, we will no longer be Airbnb/subletting. We'll need to buy a couch, a dining table, that kind of stuff.
It's going to be expensive but I have a knack for finding gems that are cheap but not cheap looking. I'm excited to stretch those interior design muscles again.
