When I lived in San Francisco, one of my favorite things to do was sing with an a cappella group. I'm not particularly a great singer but it was more about the community. Singing a cappella was a great way to detach from work and meet other singers.

I've always enjoyed doing artistic things alone as well. Art class was one of my favorite in school. I ended up studying design in university. In my adult life, I've dabbled in leathercraft, woodwork, and pottery. All things that are difficult to do while traveling.

Becoming nomadic meant leaving crafts and a cappella behind. Now that I no longer live in one place, I find myself looking for other, more portable, creative outlets.

One thing I'm really excited about is getting back into drawing. I invested in a new iPad pro that I'm bringing on the road with me. I'm starting from the basics of drawing faces. Focusing on getting the placement and proportions right. It's already been a great way to relax after work.

Of course, the other thing is writing. Most of it I'm doing for work but I'm also finding, dare I say, enjoyment in writing pieces like this for no specific purpose. It'll be interesting to look back on my 200 words a day at the end of this year.
