We had a brief two-day stop in Sitges. It's a little seaside town just south of Barcelona. A lot smaller than Barcelona and way less touristy. I'm really glad we stopped here instead.
We usually stay at Airbnbs but Andrew's parents got us two nights in a hotel as a Christmas present. From the street, the hotel looks tiny. However, it goes far back into a pool area and a breakfast restaurant. It even had a lounge that was perfect for us to work from.
We did a bit of wandering along the beach and through the pedestrian streets. Meanwhile thinking about what it would've been like to grow up here.
Our first dinner was at El Cable, a tapas restaurant. The patatas bravas is a must. We also got garlic mushrooms with sausage and a couple of the prize-winning dishes. Andrew had two glasses of red and I sipped on a really sweet white wine called Moscatel. Deliciousness for 22€.
Lunch yesterday was an awful pizza with sausage and mushrooms. That was a mistake. We made up for it with dinner at Bistro D'Ana with an amazing 16.50€ prix fixe menu. We both started with the onion soup with a spoon of cognac. Andrew had curry chicken as his main while I had gigantic prawns. We finished with an apple tart à la mode and a crème brûlée. So happy, so good.
Now we pack up again and head off to Lisbon in a few hours!
