Since starting this writing journey, I have made some discoveries about my own style.

The writers who have most influenced my writing style are:

1) Chimamanda Adichie - I am a fan of this Nigerian writer and articulate speaker. She is skilled at making powerful points while wrapping it up so perfectly with humor. Humor helps with difficult topics.

2) Jackie Collins - I have read all her books. Fell in love with her style from book #1. Her books made me laugh till my stomach hurt. Short sentences with italics and emphasis is easy to read.

3) Neil Strauss - Author of The Game. That book hijacked my mind until I finished it in a few days. I heard Neil interviewed at the Tim Ferris podcast about his strategy. That explained why I got fascinated by the Game. Take time to perfect the delivery.

4) Scott Adams - He is the creator of Dilbert. He writes about writing among other things. He advises that to become a better writer - get rid of the extra words. That's why I keep my posts short. Since Basile permits 200 words to publish - that is my higher limit. Writing is about clarity. Prune your sentences.

So who inspires you to write the way you do?

@keni Never thought about that. I appreciate brevity and wit. I kinda try to emulate your brevity, cos you do it without "big grammar", unlike Naval (another person whose brevity I like).

Hope to have a grip on brevity someday - "actually", "also", "really" etc always find their way into my writings lol.

He's battling the phrase ' less is more'

because that phrase argues for less being better than more... but it still privilleges more by using the word more as the gold standard.
