Before the end of the day and after stringing together a few hundred more words, I will hit a nice little personal milestone here on 200WordsADay. I will have published my 100th piece (in a row), which equates to nearly 40000 words (or 404 words a day) and 158 pages. Wish I'd known 70 days ago, I could just stop for a moment and still be a member of @brandonwilson's #Teamstreak.
I started this transciptive (nope, not a real word) journey back on Jan 03, 2019 12:40:16 and so far I've been able to come up with something, of value or otherwise, to write every day. Most of my topics have been tied in some fashion to my personal life experience and inner passions (i.e. my family, my kids, my pets, my sports (most notably hockey, football and basketball), my work in digital marketing and as a natural result of being Canadian, the weather. This is, I suppose, where the majority of us "writers" find our creative inspiration. I've also tried my hand at some rough fictitious tales and a couple of lines of admittedly clumsy poetic verse. What I have made a concerted effort to not do, and no offence to those here who have, is write about writing or my lack of ability to come up with something to write. In my mind, this is a bit of a cop out. The act of writing requires and demands a struggle. Every day, I do my damnedest to crawl into the little caverns within my head to find a spark or revelation and hope I will be able to run with it for at least 200 words. I've also leaned on the community here to get my creative juices (oh ick, he said juices) going. I take a few moments to scan through what others have written over the last few days and/or simply acknowledge the accomplishments of those who have maintained their consistency. Many times I catch myself well beyond the prescribed limit and have to figure out how to wrap up. Maybe this simply means my prose is a tad long-winded.
I'm not sure how far this phraseological voyage will take me, but it's been a fun trip so far.
